“Held By His Power”
By Dianne Prince
“God has spoken once, twice I have heard this: that power belongs to God” (Psalm 62:11, NKJV).
Power in the wrong hands can be dangerous. We see it every day. Some leaders use their influence to destabilize democracies around the world. CEOs in corporations may use their authority to block promotions or fire people unjustly. Even some lawmakers write laws that end up oppressing rather than protecting us.
But here is what we must remember: no matter how much power someone seems to have, they are still limited. Because real power—true power—belongs to God.
God can speak a single word and reverse the actions of a dictator, overrule a corrupt executive, and dismantle unjust laws. He has the authority to step into any situation and bring about change—immediate, total, and final.
That means God has power over your situation too. He has power over that boss who is trying to block your progress. He has power over the circumstance that will not let up. He has power over that family member who keeps going down the wrong path. And yes, He even has power over that chronic condition, that emotional struggle, or that unspoken burden you carry deep inside.
So, rejoice today—not because everything is perfect, but because man’s power is limited. People can only go as far as God allows. They can only affect you to the degree that God permits. He holds the final word over your life. He holds your future, and He holds your peace of mind.
Be encouraged. God is still on His throne. Your situation is still in His hands, and His hands are stronger than any human being on this earth. Power belongs to God—and that means you will always be covered.
