“Hope That Holds”
By Dianne Prince
“The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves such as have a contrite spirit.”– Psalm 34:18 (NKJV)
When life seems to hit from every direction—when healing is slow, relationships are strained, and fear feels overwhelming—it is easy to feel we are all alone. But God’s Word assures us: He is near.
The pain of watching someone you love lie in a hospital bed, the ache of disrespect from your own child, the weariness of physical recovery—all of it matters deeply to God. He sees your tears. He hears the prayers you cannot quite put into words. And He is not distant in your suffering. He is sitting right beside you in it.
When you are in the midst of adversity, it may feel like a pileup of sorrow, but God specializes in bringing beauty from broken places. What looks hopeless to us is never beyond His reach. He is working behind the scenes—healing, restoring, softening hearts, and opening doors that no one else can.
If you are experiencing a situation that appears to be hopeless, do not give up. Even now, God’s love is holding you up. Even now, He is near.
