God Moves in Unexpected Ways

By Dianne Prince

“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. – Isaiah 55:8 (NKJV)

God often works outside the boundaries of our logic, timelines, and expectations. He is not limited by human understanding or constrained by predictable outcomes. His ways are higher, wiser, and often surprising.

In John 9, Jesus healed a blind man, not with a word, but with mud and spit. In Joshua 6, the walls of Jericho fell, not by force, but by marching and shouting. God’s methods may seem unusual, but they are always effective and purposeful.

He still moves in unexpected ways today. A closed door changes the course of your life for the better. A delay prevents you from getting into an accident. An unplanned encounter with a stranger shifts the entire course of your life. God uses what seems random to realign your steps.

Trusting God means releasing the need to understand everything. It means allowing Him to work in ways that may not make sense now but will make perfect sense later. When life takes an unexpected turn, instead of trying to reverse it, cooperate with what God is doing. What looks like a disruption may actually be divine direction—and the beginning of your breakthrough.
