“Press On”

By Dianne Prince

“I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 3:14, KJV)

God often leaves us in awe of the way He resolves our problems. Time and again, He proves that handling the impossible is His specialty. He does not need much to work with—but He does ask us to persevere and endure. Perseverance means persisting when life becomes difficult. Endurance means bearing up under hardships and pushing forward against resistance. And when we do, God sustains and empowers us every step of the way.

Paul reminds us not to let past sins, failures, or disappointments keep us from moving forward. Instead, he calls us to stay on course, straining every muscle to reach the finish line.

Along this race, there will be slippery places we do not see until we have fallen, rocky paths we do not notice until we stumble, and valleys we do not recognize until we are already low. At times we may claw our way back up, pull ourselves forward after a fall, or crawl inch by inch until we find solid ground.

But here is the encouragement for today: no matter where you find yourself, dig in and persevere. Endure the hardships. Keep pressing on. Even if your pace is slow, do not stop moving forward.

Why? Because God is with you at every point of the race—on the sidelines cheering you on, on the track beside you giving strength, ahead of you clearing obstacles, and behind you protecting your steps. And when you reach the finish line, He will be there to welcome you into victory.

Keep pressing.
