Peace That Holds You Together
By Dianne Prince
“And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:7, NKJV)
Life’s uncertainties, worries, and pressures can easily overwhelm us if we are not careful. Yet when we keep God at the center, He promises to give us a peace beyond our comprehension—a peace that guards our hearts even in the midst of chaos. This peace is found only by deliberately entering and remaining in the presence of God.
Scripture makes it clear that divine peace comes as we release our anxieties to Him through prayer and thanksgiving. Philippians 4:6 reminds us, “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.” When we consciously surrender our concerns, His peace takes root and steadies us.
Peace is also contagious. In moments when others feel anxious, discouraged, or fearful, our calm presence, gentle words, or a timely scripture can extend God’s peace to them. What overflows from our hearts can inspire courage and bring hope to those around us.
Let the peace of God settle in your heart today—so deeply that it not only strengthens you but also shines through you as a living testimony of His presence.
