“Hold Fast to What Lasts”
By Dianne Prince
“So then, brothers and sisters, stand firm and hold fast to the teachings we passed on to you, whether by word of mouth or by letter.” (2 Thessalonians 2:15, NKJV)
Life sometimes feels unpredictable, and trials often leave us unsteady. Yet Scripture reminds us that when things get unstable and people around us get shaky, we are to stand firm and anchor ourselves in God’s promises. The Truth of God is a solid foundation that cannot be shaken by the storms of life, doubts in our mind, or fear of what might happen. When we immerse ourselves in His Word and hold fast to His truth, we gain stability that transcends every challenge.
Being anchored does not just happen. It requires intentionality. We must meditate on Scripture, remember God’s past faithfulness, and trust that He knows what He is doing. Each promise we latch onto becomes a lifeline when we are challenged by the issue of the day. Our confidence does not rest in our understanding, but in the certainty of God’s Word.
Moreover, our steadfastness becomes an example to others. When people see us rooted in faith amidst adversity, it encourages them to trust God’s promises too. Holding fast is not just for our benefit. It strengthens the faith of those around us.
Stand firm today, anchored in God’s unchanging promises, and watch how you experience His peace. May your faith inspire and strengthen those around you, pointing them back to the One who never fails.
