Grateful in Advance
By Dianne Prince
“Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.” — Mark 11:24 (NKJV)
True faith thanks God before the answer comes. Gratitude in advance is not denial of reality. It is an expression of trust. When we thank God before we see the outcome, we are declaring that we believe His promises more than we believe our circumstances.
Jesus teaches us that faith and believing and receiving together. Faith looks ahead with expectation; thanksgiving brings that expectation to life. Every time we say, “Thank You, Lord,” before we see the breakthrough, we are aligning our hearts with heaven’s perspective. We are saying, “God, I know You are already working this out for my good.”
Being grateful in advance changes how we pray. It shifts our focus from what we want to Who we trust. Instead of worrying about when the answer will come, we begin to rest in the assurance that God is faithful and His timing is perfect.
Today, thank God in advance for what you are believing Him to do. Praise Him for what He has promised, even before you see the result. Gratitude before the miracle invites God to move in ways beyond our understanding.
Faith says, “God will,” and gratitude says, “Thank You, Lord—although I do not see it yet, I know it is already done.”
