“Seek Him”
By Dianne Prince
“Seek the Lord while He may be found, call upon Him while He is near.” — Isaiah 55:6 (NKJV)
Tthroughout history, God has always extended a simple yet powerful invitation for us to seek Him. Seeking God involves Bible reading, daily devotions and prayer. And it goes deeper. It is a deliberate turning of our heart and an intentional movement of our soul toward the presence of God.
As Christmas approaches, life often grows busy and crowded. Responsibilities multiply. Calendars fill. And even good activities can pull our attention away from what matters most. Yet, in the middle of our busyness, God gently calls us, “Come near to Me. My presence is available, and My peace is within reach.” When we choose to seek Him, we discover that He is already near, patiently waiting to meet us where we are. He is near and He is ready to shower us with His power, with His understanding and with His grace.
Seeking the Lord is not about struggling to find Him. It is about opening our hearts to His voice, allowing His Word to shape our thoughts, and creating space for quiet time with Him. Every moment spent in the presence of God prepares us to meet the unexpected challenges of the day with strength we did not know we had, with confidence that nothing is too hard for God and with the attitude that ‘This too shall pass.”
During these days leading to Christmas, take time to intentionally seek the Lord. Open your Bible, quiet your surroundings, and lift your prayers toward Him. He delights in those who pursue Him daily with sincerity and joy. And He will keep you grounded in faith and surrounded by His peace.
