The Peace We Long For”

By Dianne Prince

“Great peace have those who love Your law, and nothing causes them to stumble.” — Psalm 119:165 (NKJV)

Long before the angels declared “peace on earth” on the night of the birth of Jesus, God promised is peace if we love His Word and walk in His truth. Most of us know that true peace does not arise from perfect circumstances or problem-free days. True peace flows when our heart is settled, anchored, and confident in the promises of God.

Today’s scripture reminds us that peace is directly connected to the place Scripture holds in our lives. When we allow the Word of God to guide our decisions, shape our thoughts, and steady our emotions, we begin to experience a peace that stands firm even when life feels hard. This peace guards us, strengthens us, and keeps us from stumbling.

As we approach the celebration of the birth of Christ, our world often grows noisy and hurried. Yet within this season, God offers a peace that the world cannot give us —peace that is made possible through the One who was born to bring reconciliation between God and mankind.

Your reminder for today is this: God’s peace is not distant. It is not fragile. It does not depend on what others do or fail to do. God’s peace is a person, and His name is Jesus. When we love His Word, we make room for His peace to flourish in our hearts.

You will not find peace by rearranging the circumstances of your life. May you rest today in the peace that only Christ can give. His presence surrounds you. His Word sustains you, and His peace will carry you through the day with confidence and hope.
