“Light in the Darkness”

By Dianne Prince

“The people who sat in darkness have seen a great light.” (Matthew 4:16, NKJV)

Darkness has a way of making situations feel permanent. Fear grows louder, and uncertainty feels heavier. Scripture reminds us that darkness never has the final word. Light does. When Jesus came into the world, He did not wait for darkness to disappear. He entered it.

The birth of Christ was God’s declaration that light would overcome every shadow. This light is neither fragile nor fleeting. It guides us when we are lost, comforts us when we are weary, and reveals truth when oppression seeks to rule. Even now, His light shines into our hearts when we feel overwhelmed or discouraged.

Light changes how we see. It reveals what was hidden and gives direction where confusion once ruled. Jesus does the same in our lives. He brings clarity to our questions and peace to our struggles. His presence reminds us that no darkness is too deep for His reach.

Christmas is not only about celebration. It is about revelation. God revealed His heart by sending His Son. The same light that shone in Bethlehem still shines today, offering hope, healing, and new beginnings.

Darkness may surround you, but it cannot overtake you. Jesus came to light the way. Because He shines, you can move forward with courage and joy.
