“A New Beginning”

By Dianne Prince

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.” (2 Corinthians 5:17, NKJV)

Jesus came to bring new beginnings. His birth opened the door for transformation and renewal. In Christ, the old no longer defines us—our past mistakes, failures, and regrets no longer have the final word. Jesus has the power to break every chain that holds us captive: fear, guilt, addiction, bitterness, and shame. Nothing is too strong or too deeply rooted for Him.

As the year draws to a close, some of us are reflecting on what was lost or left undone. It is easy to replay opportunities that we missed or focus on disappointments that we experienced. But God gently invites us to lift our eyes and see what He is making new. Through Christ, there is always hope for a fresh start, no matter how messy the last chapter looked.

Here is the thing: while Jesus breaks the chains, He also calls us to stop picking them back up. New life begins when we trust Him fully and choose to obey Him daily—renewing our minds, changing our habits, forgiving others, and walking away from what keeps us stuck. God will restore what was broken and renew what has grown weary, but He asks us to do our part by surrendering it all to Him and stepping forward in faith.

Jesus wants us to live our best life—not a perfect one, but a transformed one. Today, step forward with hope. In Christ, new beginnings are not behind you. They are ahead of you.
