Favor and Success

“Guaranteed Success”

“And may the Lord our God show us his approval and make our efforts successful.” (Psalm 90:17, NLT).

We all desire to be successful at whatever we put our hands to. Everything from small, routine daily tasks to large projects at home, at work, or in our volunteer organizations. Today’s scripture reminds us that God’s favor is the key to us receiving positive results. True victory is not solely about having your accomplishments recognized or receiving praise for a job well done. Genuine success is about seeking God’s will before we move forward and receiving His blessing upon our plans.

Success without God is hollow and it gratifies us temporarily, but when God establishes our work we are guaranteed to achieve positive results. The outcome may not look like what you expect but it will be exactly what God desires. When we make a deliberate effort to seek God’s approval upon our plans, we are acknowledging Him as the foundation of everything we do.

As you transition into the New Year, make an intentional effort to relinquish the temptation to be self-sufficient. Depend on the Lord to breathe upon anything you set out to do and ask Him to bless your efforts. As you submit your work to Him, be open to adjusting things if He nudges you in a different direction. With His approval, even the smallest tasks can yield extraordinary outcomes and carry an eternal impact. Commit your work to the Lord and your plans will succeed.
