“When God is Preparing You”
By Dianne Prince
“The LORD is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks Him. It is good that one should hope and wait quietly for the salvation of the LORD.” — Lamentations 3:25-26 (NKJV)
Waiting is never easy. It tugs at the heart, stirring questions and restless longing. Yet Scripture shows that waiting is not passive delay but active trust in a God who is always at work. Abraham waited for a promised son. Joseph waited in prison. David waited in the shadows before stepping into his calling. In each story, God used their waiting to quietly shape their character, deepen their faith, and prepare their hearts for what lay ahead.
When your prayers feel unanswered or your days seem ordinary, remember: God is at work beneath the surface. Like roots growing slowly before a tree can stand tall, He is strengthening you in areas that you cannot see. Your patience is making you resilient. And your quiet obedience is building steadfast faith.
When God puts you in a holding pattern, your obedience matters more than understanding. God does not always explain His delays, but His faithfulness never fails. Instead of asking when, ask who you are becoming in the waiting. Your trust, your humility, your endurance, and your discernment are being refined when things appear to be still.
Do not measure your progress by what is visible. What feels like a delay is God preparing you for the blessings to come.
Take a moment to reflect: What small step of trust can you take today, even without answers?
Waiting is not a pause in your journey. God is using it to transform you into the person you need to be to receive what you have been praying for.
