“Anchored in Unshakable Peace”
By Dianne Prince
“You will keep him in perfect peace,
Whose mind is stayed on You,
Because he trusts in You.” — Isaiah 26:3 (NKJV)
Peace often feels fragile. It can disappear with a single phone call, a difficult conversation, or an unexpected setback. Yet God offers something deeper than temporary calmness. He promises us perfect peace. The Hebrew expression here implies peace upon peace, a completeness that steadies our soul even when we have been shaken to the core.
Notice what the word says: “whose mind is stayed on You.” A mind that is stayed on Jesus is fixed, leaned upon, resting its weight on something strong. When our thoughts continually return to God—who He is, what He promised us, and How He has always come through for us, our inner world begins to stabilize. And our focus is redirected from what we cannot control to the only One who holds all things together.
Trust does not mean that we are in denial. It means we are confident that God is in the situation with us. When anxiety says the worst-case scenario is going to happen, trust answers with God’s truth. When fear magnifies our problems, the Word magnifies the Lord.
Today, gently guide your thoughts back to Him. Whisper His name. Recall His past faithfulness. Let your mind settle on His goodness. As you do, you will discover that peace is not the absence of storms but the presence of Christ in the boat with you.
When your mind rests in God, your heart rises above the waves.
