“The Blessing That Goes Before You”
By Dianne Prince
“The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace.” — Numbers 6:24–26 (NKJV)
God has spoken a blessing over your life that is older than you, stronger than your fears, and more powerful than your doubts. It is not fragile. It is not temporary. It is the steady, everlasting favor of God resting upon you. This blessing was first given to the Israelites in the wilderness to assure them of God’s presence, protection, and favor as they journeyed through uncertainty.
As we navigate the day-to-day demands of this world, it sometimes feels like we are wandering in the wilderness. Nevertheless, God declares His protection, presence, and peace over us. To be kept means we are guarded even when we do not see the danger. To have His face shine upon us means we live under His smile and approval and we cannot disappoint Him. To receive His peace means we are made whole, even when our circumstances remain unsettled.
Pause and imagine the Creator of the universe turning His face toward you with kindness every moment of every day. There is no hesitation in His blessing and no reluctance in His grace. You are not striving to earn what He has already spoken over you.
So, walk forward today with a settled spirit, a renewed mind, and a steadfast heart. You are blessed. You are kept. You are held in perfect peace.
Stand firm in this truth: the blessing of God goes before you, walks beside you, and will carry you when you cannot see your way through.
