“Tell God”
By Dianne Prince
“But you, Lord, are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high. I call out to the Lord, and he answers me from his holy mountain” (Psalm 3:3-4, NIV).
As much as we study, as diligent as we pray and as often as we talk to God, every not and then, we wake up with a dark cloud hanging over our head.
Occasionally when we wake up, our spirit is heavy, and we cannot put our finger on “why.” We look around and everything is well in our world. The people we care about most are fine. We have all the necessities we need to make it. There are not major problems weighing us down. But still, we wake up with an uneasiness in our spirit. We have all been there. Some of us are there right now.
The psalmist said, “In my distress, I call out to the Lord and He lifted my head high.” In the same way, in your distress, you must verbalize to God what you are looking to Him to do in your situation. When you firmly express what you are believing God for, when you stand on your prayers and do not waver, God will make His presence known.
When you cry out to God in Prayer, He will lift you above that dark cloud of uncertainty. He will lift you above that dark cloud of fear. And He will lift you above the enemy’s attempt to rob you of your peace.
The reminder for you today is this: God answers the prayers of an afflicted soul. And He will not forsake you when you cry out to Him. Therefore, when your spirit is unsettled, cry out to God. When your mind will not stop racing, cry out to God. When you do so, God will reinstate within you a peace beyond your understanding. He will bring you back to a state of calmness and He will renew your hope for a bright outcome.
