Every Day Is A Good Day
“Have A Good Day”
By Dianne Prince
“Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer” (Romans 12:12, NIV).
Elder Timms often says, “Today is a good day to have a good day.” Today’s scripture teaches us how to make every day a good one. It presents God’s foolproof formula for setting the tone of our day rather than letting our circumstances dictate it.
The first point is to “Be joyful in hope.” Our hope in Christ is the foundation of our joy. We cannot rely on people, possessions, promises, intellect, education, or abilities to give us hope. True hope comes only through trust in Jesus Christ.
The second point is to “Be patient in affliction.” We all face distress, hardship, pain, and misfortune—sometimes due to our own actions, sometimes through no fault of our own. Regardless of the cause, patience is key to having a good day even in difficult times.
The third and final point is to “Be faithful in prayer.” We must commit to praying throughout the day. When doubt creeps in—pray. When uncertainty overwhelms—pray. When distrust threatens our spirit—pray. Pray continually until our minds are filled with hope and our spirits with joy.
How do you have a good day every day?
-
Rejoice in the little things.
-
Resist the pressure to fix things when the day goes off course.
-
Pray until something happens.
Always remember: every day is a good day because God made it, and everything He makes is good.
“This is the day the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.” —Psalm 118:24 (NKJV)
