“Everything Is Connected”

By Dianne Prince

“For the Lord God is our sun and our shield. He gives us grace and glory. The Lord will withhold no good thing from those who do what is right” (Psalm 84:11, NLT).

The sun serves as a perfect illustration of the interconnectedness inherent in all of God’s creations. It begins by gathering vapor from the ocean, which is then moved by the winds according to God’s direction. Eventually, this vapor condenses into dew and rain, falling to the earth to fill streams, rivers, and nourish crops. Though these events may seem isolated when viewed individually, they are all intricately connected, working towards God’s ultimate purpose—to supply the earth with life-sustaining water.

Similarly, in our lives, God allows seemingly standalone events to unfold, each playing a role in achieving His desired outcome. Today’s challenges may appear daunting, and tomorrow’s may seem even worse. Yet, as God weaves these experiences together—connecting the negatives of last week with the trials of last month—He works to create something beautiful. This could manifest as the salvation of a loved one, the fulfillment of a promise of healing, relief from financial burdens, or the attainment of a much-needed job.

Today, remember that God is your sustainer, and every experience is connected to a future blessing He has in store for you. There’s no need to worry about yesterday’s events, today’s struggles, or tomorrow’s uncertainties. In due time, God will provide everything necessary to lead you to His intended destination, while also granting you the grace needed to endure in the meantime.
