“Just Do It”

By Rev. Everett R. Kimble, Sr.

Malachi 3:8-11 8 “Should people cheat God? Yet you have cheated me!  “But you ask, ‘What do you mean? When did we ever cheat you?’  “You have cheated me of the tithes and offerings due to me. You are under a curse, for your whole nation has been cheating me. Bring all the tithes into the storehouse so there will be enough food in my Temple. If you do,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, “I will open the windows of heaven for you. I will pour out a blessing so great you won’t have enough room to take it in! Try it! Put me to the test! Your crops will be abundant, for I will guard them from insects and disease. Your grapes will not fall from the vine before they are ripe,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.

Have you ever considered the possibility that in the mist of all of your waiting on God, God is waiting on you?  God has created you for a purpose and He expects you to fulfill that purpose.  If you are not doing something in your life to advance the Kingdom of God right now, you are robbing God of your time, your talent, and your tithe.  Everything you need to take the next step in your ministry you already have.

I am confident you can find just a little bit of time in your week to show somebody that the love of God is real.  If not somebody, then help an organization fulfill its mission.  Your willingness to devote a moment of your time can make a world of difference.  You may be waiting on God to show you what your talent is, but you already know something you are capable of doing.  Whatever it is, cooking, cleaning, driving, or just talking you can start doing it today.  Even when you consider your tithe, you may not be able to give more money; I am sure you have things packed away and forgotten and no longer being used.  Someone would love to have those things.  You haven’t used them in years let them go already.

And here is your encouragement for today.  While you are waiting on God, He is waiting on you because it is only in the midst of your going, doing, and giving He can and will release your blessing. Stop waiting and do something because while you are working you will experience the truth of His word, “I will open the windows of heaven for you. I will pour out a blessing so great you won’t have enough room to take it in!

As the saying goes, “Just Do It.”  He won’t let you down.

Have a wonderfully blessed Friday.
