“Great Things”

By Dianne Prince

The LORD is my strength and my song; he has given me victory” (Psalm 118:14, NLT).

God promises that when we live obediently and depend on Him, He will work great and mighty things through and for us. What kind of things? He will empower us to go beyond our natural capacity, granting us creative vision and the determination to pursue it with newfound drive. He will also rescue us from seemingly insurmountable situations beyond human capability.

Consider Sara, who conceived despite her advanced age. Or the Israelites, delivered from Pharaoh’s oppression through Moses. When they faced the threat of Pharaoh’s army at the Red Sea, God parted the waters.

When the odds seemed insurmountable at Jericho, the walls fell.

Even when Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego faced certain death in the fiery furnace, God intervened.

And when humanity faced condemnation to death, Jesus sacrificed Himself and rose with all power.

This same power resides within each of us. By God’s power, we can achieve anything we pursue in faith and obedience. We can stand strong in adversity, conquer our fears, confront our challenges, and succeed in our endeavors.

Remember, with God’s help, you can overcome hard times, conquer your fears, and achieve your goals. Let today’s scripture be your guiding light: “With God’s help, I will do mighty things; He will trample down my foes” (Psalm 60:12, NIV).
