“Pray Until the Answer Comes”

By Dianne Prince

Because he bends down to listen, I will pray as long as I have breath! (Psalm 116:2)

The Psalmist in our scripture today has been praying, but he has not seen any results from his prayers. We find him this morning feeling sorry for himself and he is about to give up on prayer. Just as he is about to give in to the enemy, his outlook shifts, and he declares, “Then I called on the name of the Lord: ‘Lord, save me!’”

As the Psalmist prayed to God, God quickened his spirit and he decided, “Nevertheless, I will continue to pray. I am sold out on prayer. I will stand firm on prayer. In the morning, you will find me send up prayers to God.”

When you are in a tight spot, the enemy will always dispatch legions of imps to usurp every prayer you send up to heaven. We witness his presence and his actions everyday as he attacks our peace and as he attacks our minds. We see him at work in our families, our finances, our health, and our souls.

Be reminded today, that when you get to a point where you want to give up on praying, make up in your mind that you will not give up. You will not let up. And you will not surrender. But boldly declare that you will pray until the answer comes. Keep praying because every time you send up a prayer, it weakens the enemy’s grip on your mind, on your spirit and in your life.

If things are not working out in your favor today, pray until the answer comes.

If unexpected news throws you for a loop, pray until God strengthens you.

If people around you are acting like they do not know who Jesus is, pray until God gives them revelation.

And if you do not know how you are going to get through the next hour. Pray until God gives you direction.

Whatever hand life deals you today, pray until the answer comes.

“Because he bends down to listen, I will pray as long as I have breath!” (Psalm 116:2)
