“Ask God”

“For He [God] guards the course of the just and protects the way of his faithful ones” (Proverbs 2:7, NIV).
Our scripture today is a great scripture of encouragement for those who find themselves at a crossroad—at a decision point and guidance is needed on which road to take. Our scripture tells us that God keeps His eye on all those who constantly consult Him. He protects those who follow Him by faith. And He leads them in the way to go.
Today’s Word reminds us that God pays special attention to us when we ask Him for wisdom to make a tough decision. He illuminates our minds when we ask Him for understanding of a confusing situation. He reveals to us the right path when we ask Him for guidance. And He covers us when we follow His guidance to the letter.
And this is the takeaway from today’s lesson: God’s desire is that you live a stress-free life, not a problem-free life, but a life where your problems do not disturb you. The only way to minimize stress in your day is to constantly consult the Lord on which course to take as things pop up and to obey what He tells you to do.
God does not reveal to you every detail of what His plans are for your day. He does not let you in on what He is going to do from beginning to end. But He typically gives you instruction one step at a time.
When God sheds light on the course you need to take, simply do what He says and leave the consequences to Him. As you walk in obedience to God’s instructions, He will not let you fail. Following Him may put you in a tight spot, but He is in the tight spot with you, He has a purpose for you being there, and He will protect you from any negative repercussions of your decision.
As you follow God where He leads you today, be confident that He will light your path step by step and He will safeguard you as you walk the road He has laid for you to travel.
