Blessings in Disguise

By Dianne Prince

“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” — Romans 8:28 (NKJV)

Some blessings do not look like blessings at first. They arrive wrapped in disappointment, delay, or difficulty. Yet, with time and trust, we begin to see how God was working behind the scenes all along—turning what was meant for harm into something good.

Paul’s words in Romans 8:28 remind us that God’s goodness is not limited to pleasant circumstances. He works through all things—the joyful and the painful, the expected and the surprising—to accomplish His purpose. Even when we cannot trace His hand, we can trust His heart.

Often, the situations that stretch us the most are the very ones that strengthen us. The prayers that seemed unanswered were making room for something better. The closed doors protected us from what we could not see. The waiting refined our character and deepened our faith.

Today, choose to thank God for the blessings that did not look like blessings. Trust that nothing in your life is wasted in His hands. What once brought tears may one day bring testimony.

What feels like a setback is simply be God setting you up for something greater.
