“Choose Life”
“For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God… So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God” (Romans 8:6–8, NKJV).
Our thoughts are powerful. They shape how we see the world, respond to situations, and relate to God. In today’s scripture, Paul contrasts two mindsets: one focused on the flesh and one centered on the Spirit. One leads to death. The other leads to life and peace.
A carnal mind chases what feels good in the moment, prioritizes self over God, and relies on human reasoning. It often leaves us restless, anxious, and distant from the Lord. A spiritual mind, however, filters thoughts through God’s Word, trusts Him even when it is hard, and aligns decisions with His will.
Developing a spiritual mindset does not happen overnight. It is a daily choice—waking each morning to surrender your thoughts, plans, and desires to God. It’s inviting Him into your commute, your conversations, your challenges, and your victories.
The more we fix our minds on the Spirit, the more we experience His peace and purpose in every part of life. Choose today to set your mind on what leads to life—because where your thoughts go, your heart follows. And God is waiting to meet you there with life, peace, and hope that endures.
