“Chosen and Covered”

By Dianne Prince

“I will sing the LORD’s praise, for He has been good to me.” (Psalm 13:6, NLT)

We have many reasons to praise God this morning. We praise Him because before the earth was formed, God had already chosen you and me to be His children.

Before there was ever a world, He had already decided to adopt us into His family through His Son, Jesus Christ. And because we are adopted, we share in all the rights and privileges that belong to Christ.

We praise God because long before we knew Him, His eyes were already upon us, and His plans were already in motion to handle whatever this day would bring.

Yesterday may not have been what we hoped for. Some of us may not have accomplished all we set out to do, and others may have faced situations we never expected. Yet we still say, thank You, Lord, because if God ordained it, we have no reason to be agitated or afraid.

We give thanks because whatever comes our way today, God has already set the outcome in motion. He has already determined how every detail will unfold.

Here is your reminder for today: as you go about your day, make up your mind to walk in spiritual peace and mental rest. Why? Because God has already thought of everything you will need, and He will provide it right on time. If it has not been provided yet, it is because you do not need it yet.

Remember this—whatever reaches you has been filtered through heaven before it gets to you. You are not in charge. Circumstances are not in control. God is. He is running the show and calling every shot.

So settle your heart, lift your praise, and trust that the God who chose you is also the God who covers you.
