“Covered Day and Night”
By Dianne Prince
“He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber” (Psalm 121:3, NKJV).
The psalmist reassures us that God is always at work. During the day, He is silently and carefully moving on our behalf. At night, while we sleep, He remains on duty. His angels are stationed around our homes, guarding us and everything that concerns us. They constantly intercept the enemy’s plans to harm us.
Nothing reaches us without first passing through God. And nothing passes through Him unless He allows it. Whatever He permits is part of His plan to strengthen and shape us for greater service in His kingdom.
The uncertainty of the day, the struggle to find a job, concern over the choices of our loved ones, the strain of mental illness, overwhelming financial burdens, or that lingering illness that will not let go—each one had to go through God first. And if He allowed it, He will sustain you through it.
Today, be at peace knowing that whatever has come to your door, no matter how painful or uncertain, it is part of a bigger picture God has designed for your good. If He allowed it, you can handle it.
Carry this with you today: Never give in to your circumstances and never give up hope. You are in God’s hands both day and night. When it feels like you are slipping, He holds you up. When your back is against the wall, He makes a way. While you sleep and while you are awake, the Lord is watching over you. He is fighting your battles. He has you covered—top to bottom, side to side.
