“Covered, Kept and Provided For”

“The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want” (Psalm 23:1, KJV).
This morning’s scripture reassures us that as we obey God’s Word, He guarantees us that we will not need or lack anything. Times may be hard but we are still standing. Situations may seem impossible but God is sustaining us from situation to situation. It may appear that we are not going to make it but God keeps working things out one day at a time.
Like a good shepherd who cares for His sheep, God looks after each of us individually. He knows your name. He knows where you live. He knows what is going to happen in your day today. And He knows how much fight you have left within you. And when you have nothing left to fight with, God will step in, and He will be whatever you need Him to be. When your strength runs out. God’s strength kicks in and spurs you on. When your abilities dry up, God’s authority takes over.
Be reminded today that God’s Word promises that you “shall not want.” If you do not know what to do about a deeply personal situation, ask God to lead you. He will quietly navigate you through the obstacles of this day with His powerful hand.
If you are concerned about what someone might do against you, ask God to protect you. He will shield you from unseen dangers and he will reveal to you who is on your side and who is against you.
If you want peace of mind, all you need to do is ask Him. If you want to be assured that he is going to take care of a problem, ask Him for His reassurance that He is handling things. And if you feel yourself doubting the power of God, ask Him to increase your faith and boost your hope.
Today, talk to God about what you need and then, go about your daily business as if it is already done. And remember, IF God does not immediately take care of a need when you ask, that is because you do not need it yet.
