“Covered”
By Dianne Prince
“You hem me in behind and before, and lay your hand upon me” (Psalm 139:5).
Today’s scripture assures us that God’s hand surrounds us like a protective glove. He shelters us from harm and keeps us on course. His hand keeps out those things that try and harm us. And His hand keeps in those things we need within us to persevere and endure.
Throughout our lives we have seen the hand of God lifting us above those things we thought would take us out. We have experienced his hand shielding us from the negative intentions of those around us and even protecting us from ourselves. And we have seen His hand directing us when we were fresh out of ideas on how to proceed. It is the mighty hand of God that sustains us when we want to give up and strengthens us when our energy has given out. The hand of the Lord empowers us to move forward. He provides clarity when we feel lost. And He provides courage when we feel weak.
In your moments of challenge and doubt today, remember that God is always present and has you covered from the top to bottom and on every side. His hand is always upon you, guiding, protecting, and equipping you for every task and trial. Therefore, meet the day head-on with boldness. Walk in His strength. Make decisions with confidence. And trust in His grip, knowing that you are covered on every side and God will never let us go.
