Guided Every Step of the Way

“For He [God] guards the course of the just and protects the way of His faithful ones” (Proverbs 2:7, NIV).
Our scripture today is a word of encouragement for those who find themselves at a crossroad—facing decisions and in need of guidance on which road to take. This verse assures us that God watches closely over those who continually seek Him. He protects those who follow Him in faith, and He directs them in the way they should go.
Today’s Word reminds us that God pays special attention when we ask Him for wisdom to make difficult choices. He enlightens our minds when we seek understanding in confusing situations. He reveals the right path when we call on Him for guidance. And He covers us with His care when we follow His leading with obedience.
Here is the takeaway from today’s lesson: God desires that you live a stress-free life. Not a problem-free life, but one in which problems do not overwhelm you. The way to minimize stress in your day is to continually seek the Lord for direction as challenges arise, and then to obey what He instructs you to do.
God does not always reveal every detail of His plans. He does not show us the entire path from beginning to end. Instead, He often guides us one step at a time.
When God sheds light on the direction you are to take, simply follow His leading and leave the outcome in His hands. Walking in obedience may sometimes place you in a tight spot, but remember this: God is there with you. He has a purpose for allowing you to be in that place, and He will shield you from any lasting harm.
As you follow God where He leads today, be confident that He will illuminate your steps, guard your path, and faithfully bring you to the destination He has prepared for you.
