Wayne D-We ask for a personal encounter with Christ, security, safety, and protection. – 2 Corin 7:1 Therefore, since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God.
Jerry B-We pray for him to find a job suitable for his skills and safe, permanent housing. – “As for God, his way is perfect: The LORD’s word is flawless; he shields all who take refuge in him.” Psalm 18:30 (NIV)
Larry P-We pray for him to develop a genuine walk with Jesus. We also pray for him to learn money management and budgeting and apply it to his daily decisions. – 2 Thessalonians 3:3 But the Lord is faithful. He will establish you and guard you against the evil one.
Local and Long-Distance Truck Drivers-We pray for God’s wisdom in making decisions, for them and their families to be upheld spiritually, and for them to be kept by God’s power. – 2 Thess 1:11-12 To this end we always pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of his calling and may fulfill every resolve for good and every work of faith by his power, so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Those with an unexpected bill-We pray God makes a way for them to meet their financial obligations with no strain on their budget. – Deut 28:12 God has opened unto me his good treasure to give rain to my land and bless all the work of my hand. I will lend and not borrow.
Those with breathing problems-We call upon God to keep breathing strong, bodies healthy, and grant favor in everything.- Psalm 120:1 I call on the Lord in my distress, and he answers me.
Those who have failed and do not feel like trying again-We call upon the Lord to put lives back together again and for them to bounce back stronger than before. – My days have passed, my plans are shattered, and so are the desires of my heart. (NIV 1984) Job 17:11 – Hear my cry, O God; listen to my prayer. From the ends of the earth I call to you, I call as my heart grows faint; lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For you have been my refuge, a strong tower against the foe. I long to dwell in your tent forever and take refuge in the shelter of your wings. (Psalm 61:1-4)
Loved-ones with mental illness-We stand together believing for a miraculous healing, protection from themselves, for strongholds to be supernaturally released and for clarity of thought. – Colossians 1:11-14 “May you be made strong with all the strength that comes from his glorious power, and may you be prepared to endure everything with patience, while joyfully giving thanks to the Father, who has enabled you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the light. He has rescued us from the power of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption.
Everyone in the call this morning-We ask God to give you patience, peace of mind and a joy-filled spirit. We ask Him to cut a path for your affairs to go smoothly and for His hand to be clearly seen as you go about your day. – Psalm 4:8 – In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, O LORD, will keep me safe.
