God Gets the Final Say

“For when we came into Macedonia, we had no rest, but we were harassed at every turn—conflicts on the outside, fears within. But God, who encourages those who are discouraged, encouraged us.” 2 Corinthians 7:5–6 (NIV)
In life, evil is always looking for a fight. Sadly, the powers of darkness sometimes appear through faces we know and voices we recognize. They move with one goal: to destroy us.
The good news is that, as Christians, we do not have to fall for the devil’s schemes. We do not have to yield to his assaults or be consumed with trying to overpower him. Instead, we are called to trust in the Lord, who fights on our behalf.
When the enemy strikes, we cannot predict how God will intervene, who He will use, or the method He will choose. What we can be certain of is that God will always show up, especially when we are cornered and see no way out.
In today’s scripture, Paul and his ministry team were surrounded by opposition. Yet, in the midst of pressure, Paul declared with confidence: “But God, who encourages those who are discouraged, encouraged us.”
So today, when the enemy stirs up trouble in your life, do not fight blow for blow. Do not wrestle with flesh and blood. Stand your ground, strengthen your heart, and patiently wait for God to act. Remember: the enemy may roar, but God gets the last word. Evil may press in, but God gets the final say.
