“God is Greater Than Your Highs and Your Lows”

By Dianne Prince

“Neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:38-39, NIV).

Life brings us through a series of highs and lows, but through it all, one truth remains: God is greater than anything we face. In the highest moments, it’s easy to feel His presence and celebrate His goodness. But in the lowest valleys, when challenges weigh us down, we can sometimes forget that God is still in control.

Whether we find ourselves at the peak of joy or in the depths of despair, God’s love and power are unwavering. His authority covers every aspect of our lives, and no circumstance is beyond His reach. That crime your loved one has been charged with, that spouse who has lost interest in the marriage, that twenty-something-year-old who keeps going around the same mountain because he has all the answers and that job that is always overflowing with drama are all within the boundaries of God’s sovereign control. You name it and God’s control extends over it.

In the highs, we should remain humble, recognizing that every blessing comes from God. In the lows, we must cling to His promises, trusting that He is working all things together for our good (Romans 8:28). He is with us in every season, guiding, comforting, and providing exactly what we need.

Your reminder for today is this: Your circumstances do not define God’s ability to work in your life. Your situation does not diminish His power. He always has, does right now, and always will hold all power in His hands. Whether you’re on the mountaintop or in the valley, God is greater than your highs and He is more powerful than your lows. Trust Him during the peaks and lean on Him in the valleys for constant hope, unwavering faith and never-ending strength.
