“God Is Working It Out”

“After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen” (Matthew 6:9-13).
Anticipating the birth of my daughter, my wife and I bought the very first 1998 Honda Passport to roll off the truck in Orlando. I had researched all the features and waited about a year for the new model. I didn’t need it, and my wife took every opportunity to remind me of that. But me being me, I just had to have one. I was proud of myself as I drove it home, and for the first few weeks it ran great, until one day on the way home my wife pressed the brakes to stop, and she said it felt as if it was falling apart. Things went downhill from there. The seat warmers warmed all the time. The radio played when it wanted to play, and the alarm would go off randomly. That SUV spent so much time in the service department we had a standing reservation with the rental car company down the street from the dealership.
We had to fight Honda to get our money back, but when the dust settled, we had gotten back double what we paid into that SUV and used the money to purchase a much bigger and better vehicle. My daughter grew up riding in and driving the one we bought with the money from the bad truck and on the first day of her senior year of school she wrecked it. But because of its size, it saved her life. It took 18 years, but what started out as a mess turned into a miracle. I thought that I had made one of the biggest mistakes of my life, but God was working things out and even when I was frustrated God was fixing things for my family.
And here is where I want to encourage someone today; your frustration is part of the solution. God knows what you need even before you ask for it and right now, He is working His plan. I know it does not feel right, but it doesn’t have to feel right it just has to get right, and God is the only one that can make it right. When you feel like you have made the biggest mistake of your life pray this prayer; “Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.” (Matthew 6:9-13, KJV). God will remind you that He has it all under control.
