“God Will Give You a Second Wind”

By Dianne Prince

“But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.” — Isaiah 40:31 (NKJV)

One of the blessings we often take for granted is the strength God gives us each day. When we feel worn, drained, or overwhelmed, calling on Him and waiting for Him to move brings restoration. As we wait on Him, He breathes fresh energy into our tired souls. He lifts burdens we were never meant to carry but often choose to hold on to. He gives us the endurance to keep moving forward when we feel tempted to stand still and sink into self-pity.

Today’s scripture reminds us that our strength does not come from ourselves. We are renewed because God renews us. We rise because He lifts us. We persevere because His power sustains us. Even when our hearts are heavy, God provides the spiritual strength we need to rise above what weighs us down.

Waiting on the Lord is not passive. It calls us to push ourselves to read God’s Word when doubt sets in. It calls us to pray when worry attempts to take over our minds. It calls us to surrender to His ways when our own reasoning urges us to act independently. When we wait on God, our strength is renewed, and we receive a true second wind.

Pause today and thank God for renewing your strength. Thank Him for every moment He has carried you, every burden He has lifted, and every time He has given you what you needed to keep going.

With every breath of renewed strength, God reminds us that His power is far greater than our exhaustion.
