“God’s Love”

By Rev. Everett R. Kimble, Sr.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved” (John 3:16-17, KJV).

I was read a book years ago that opened with the story of a 4-year-old child running into the room, jumping into his grandfather’s lap and shouting; “Tell me a story grandpa and put me in it.”  The visual from that book has probably been the reason bedtime with my children and now my grandkids, has always been such a meaningful time for me.  I get to tell them wonderful stories and put them in the stories and they love it.

These verses tell us a story of how great and powerful God’s love is, and it is a story He has put every one of us in.  It tells of the price God paid for our redemption.  It reminds us that when it feels no one cares for us, God does.  It lets us know that no matter where we have been or what we have done, we are free right now because of Jesus.  It is the most powerful story ever written because it promises eternal life for everyone who hears it and believes in Christ Jesus.  God wrote the story and He put Jesus in it.

The awesome thing is God is still writing the story and each of us has a chapter.  Continue writing your story today as you live and love the way God wants you too.  Tell someone His story and give them the opportunity to have true salvation.  Be obedient to the Spirit because that is where the power of God is manifested.  Pray a little more for those you will encounter today because prayer is always a good place to start.  And be open to allowing God to use you in whatever way He chooses and let the power of His story work through you.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved” (John 3:16-17, KJV).

His story is a Great story, and He has put all of us in it.

Have a safe, saved, and sanctified Friday.
