“God’s Plan Overrides Ours”
By Dianne Prince
“For the Lord of hosts has planned, and who can frustrate it? And as for His stretched-out hand, who can turn it back?” (Isaiah 14:27, NASB)
God’s plan for our lives does not depend on what we have or have not done. It does not hinge on our personal plans for ourselves or our families. His plan was set long before we were born. Therefore, each of us is called to surrender to God’s agenda for the day.
Our agendas often center on peace of mind, good health, abundant blessings, and financial security. God’s agenda, however, calls us to live by faith and follow His Word step by step. His desire is for us to walk in daily, wholehearted submission to Him.
When our agenda does not align with His, God has ways of getting our attention. If you find yourself in difficult or confusing circumstances, ask Him to teach you how to surrender to His will, submit to His guidance, and wait patiently for His timing. He speaks through His Word, through the still, quiet voice within, and often through other people.
Let this be your reminder today: whatever comes your way, God either directs it or permits it. He hardened Pharaoh’s heart, and He allowed Satan to test Job—his possessions, his family, and his health. Nothing you face today will catch God off guard. If it comes, He has pre-approved it.
God already knows how everything will unfold before it does. He owns the agenda. He designs the plan. And He is in control of it all. So today, release your grip on your own plans and yield to His.
When you stop trying to control the plan, you finally experience the peace of trusting the One who is always in control of all people and all things.
