“Held Steady by God’s Love”
By Dianne Prince
“But you, Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness” (Psalm 86:15, NIV).
Today’s verse reminds us of three powerful truths about God’s character that we can stand on.
God’s Love for Us Does Not Change. In the midst of our trials and struggles, we can take comfort in knowing that God’s compassion never fails. He sees our struggles, He feels our pain, He knows our needs, and He responds with mercy and understanding. No matter what we face, God’s heart is always turned toward us, offering grace in every situation.
God Is Patient with Us When We Make Mistakes. We all make mistakes and fall short at times, but God’s patience is boundless. He is slow to anger, not quick to judge or condemn. Instead, He gives us room to grow, forgiving us and guiding us with love. His grace allows us to rise again and keep moving forward.
God’s Love and Faithfulness Never Ends. His love is not temporary or conditional. It’s a love that abounds and overflows, steady through every season of life. Even when circumstances change, God’s faithfulness remains the same. We can always rely on Him to be with us, doing for us what we cannot do for ourselves, giving us those things that are out of our reach and making available those things that we are unable to obtain on our own.
Today, let God’s love, patience, and faithfulness be the foundation that you stand on. As you navigate the peaks and valleys of the day, rely on His love and His grace to guide you in every situation. And lean on His strength to carry you through.
