“His Name Says It All”

By Dianne Prince

“For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”Isaiah 9:6 (NKJV)

Isaiah’s words, “Unto us a Child is born,” prophesied the birth of Jesus long before His first cry filled the night sky in Bethlehem. The promise is personal. The Child came for you, and the Child came for me. Our Savior has come—and with Him comes peace, strength, and hope that nothing in this world can shake.

When God sent His Son, He sent Himself wrapped in humanity—vulnerable and humble, yet carrying divine authority. Every name Isaiah declares reveals what this Child would become for the world and for your life.

He is Wonderful when you need hope.
Counselor when you need wisdom.
Mighty God when you feel weak.
Everlasting Father when you long for security.
Prince of Peace when your heart is troubled.

As we move closer to celebrating the birth of Christ, let His names remind you that He is everything you need today. Christmas is more than a day—it is the arrival of God’s answer to every fear, every need, and every longing of the human heart.

Whatever challenge you face today, whatever obstacle rises against you, the Child who was born unto you still carries the government on His shoulders. He is still running things. He still makes a way for bills to be paid when there seems to be no way. He still heals bodies that are diseased, minds that are broken, and spirits that are tired. Every man, woman, boy, and girl on this earth remains under His divine authority. He leads. He reigns. And He holds you firmly in His hands.
