“Jesus Is Alive!”

By Dianne Prince

“Jesus answered and said to them, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.” Then the Jews said, “It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and will You raise it up in three days?” But He was speaking of the temple of His body” (John 2:19-21, NKJV).

In today’s scripture, Jesus forewarned the Jewish authorities and religious leaders, saying, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.” However, they didn’t understand his meaning; they thought He referred to the physical temple of worship. Even the disciples who were with him failed to comprehend. After Jesus arose, the disciples remembered his words, believed the scripture, and the word He had spoken.

The Word of God plainly teaches us in 1 Corinthians 2:14, “But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned” (NKJV). Many today strive to navigate life in the natural, relying on their limited wisdom. Yet, they discover they cannot handle it alone. They cannot take it. They cannot fix it. They cannot change it, nor can they endure it.

Your reminder for today is this: the Roman soldiers did not take Jesus’ life. Scripture says He laid it down, and when He was ready, He took it up again. The same power that held Jesus to the cross as He reconciled us to God is the power He has given to you. The power that sustained Jesus in the grave resides within you today. The power that filled Peter as he preached on Pentecost and saved 3000 souls is available to empower you to declare victory over adversity. It enables you to walk in the footsteps of Jesus, to conquer your flesh with your Spirit, to overcome evil with good, and to triumph over your physical mind with the mind of Christ.

In your adversity, do not grow weary. You can make it. You can take it. You can overcome it. You can resolve it. You can win it. You can press your way through it because through Christ, you have the power to be victorious not only in heaven but also here on earth. Lean on His power to lighten your load. Depend on His power to guide you in the right direction. Use His power to extricate yourself from difficult situations and embody His power in your everyday life.

Resurrection Sunday signifies life and victory in Jesus. Today, celebrate the one who lives within you. Happy Easter. Have a joy-filled, Christ-favored Resurrection Day.
