“Light for Today”

By Dianne Prince

“Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.” — Psalm 119:105 (NKJV)

There are seasons when the road ahead feels hidden by darkness. It can leave us longing for answers God has not yet chosen to reveal. Yet today’s Scripture reminds us that God does not promise to illuminate our entire journey. He faithfully provides enough light for the next step.

That is how faith grows.

When uncertainty surrounds you, resist the temptation to rush ahead of God. Do not allow fear to push you beyond the light He has already given. Trust is deepened as you keep walking, even when you cannot see beyond today. Faith is not built by knowing every detail of the journey. Faith is strengthened through daily dependence upon the only God who already knows the end from the beginning.

Often, obedience is found in the ordinary moments—choosing forgiveness over resentment, offering a gentle word instead of a harsh one, opening God’s Word before seeking the opinion of your close friend, praying before making a decision, or serving quietly when no one notices. These small acts of obedience become the steady footsteps of a life led by God.

Take a moment and look back. Remember His faithfulness. Remember the prayers He has answered, the doors He has opened, and the burdens He has carried for you. The God, who was faithful yesterday, has not changed today. He still walks beside you. His wisdom reaches far beyond your vision, and His timing is always perfect.

Do not worry about what tomorrow will bring. Simply walk in the light God has given you today.

One faithful step, taken in obedience to God, is enough.

Because when you walk in His light, you will never walk alone.
