“Look Back and Remember”

By Dianne Prince

“Remember the days of old, consider the years of many generations. Ask your father, and he will show you; your elders, and they will tell you.”— Deuteronomy 32:7 (NKJV)

Reflecting on the past strengthens our faith. When we remember how God has carried us through before, our hope for the future grows. Throughout Scripture, God repeatedly calls His people to remember what He has done. Gratitude anchors our hearts and steadies our minds, especially when circumstances feel uncertain.

When you recall past victories, fear begins to lose its voice. Praise gently shifts your focus from today’s challenges to the unchanging truth of who God is. His faithfulness is not affected by our seasons of struggle or success—His character remains the same.

Consider a time when you didn’t know how things would work out, yet God made a way. Maybe it was provision, healing, direction, or peace in the middle of chaos. That same God is with you now.

Your reminder for today is this: looking ahead becomes easier when you look back with gratitude. The God who sustained you then will sustain you again. Confidence for tomorrow is built by remembering how faithful God has already been.
