“My Supply”

By Rev. Everett R. Kimble, Sr.

Philippians 4:19 – And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from His glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.

Those of you who have been on this Christian journey for any amount of time have undoubtedly come to the same conclusion I have, Jesus is with me in everything.  I have found myself in some pretty precarious situations, and He has never failed me yet. Jesus has always supplied me with everything I needed.  Many times I may have gotten my needs confused with my wants, but I can truly say that He has blessed me and I am still here.

When I left home for the first time and moved out on my own, He supplied my needs. I prayed for God to send me the love of my life, He fulfilled the desires of my heart.  When we had our children, especially our only baby girl whom doctors where sure would be born with a birth defect, but instead she arrived healthy, happy, and beautiful He took care of us.  When we found ourselves short on funds, but long on bills he provided.  Every time we needed God to show up and show out, He did.  But what I ultimately realized after many years of connecting His blessings to my things, all God ever really wanted was the relationship.  So much so that He created all those desires and needs to pull me closer to Him.  And here is where I would like to encourage someone else today.

God creates needs that He alone can supply to show you or remind you that He is always there.  Your salvation is the most important thing to Him and He will, and He does use every experience in your life to show and prove that all of His wonder and glory is released through Christ Jesus.

Have you lost a loved one?  Salvation through Christ Jesus supplies the peace and understanding you need.  What about a job loss?  Salvation through Christ Jesus gives you the vision to see He is moving you to something bigger and better.  Have you gotten a hopeless prognosis from the doctor?  Salvation through Christ Jesus will give you the comfort you need while you wait on Him to work your miracle.  You might be hungry right now and worried about where your next meal is going to come from.  God knows what you need, continue to draw close to Him, and He will draw close to you and provide your need, today.  God knows who you are and where you are, and He is prepared to supply each and every one of your needs.

Matthew 6:8 reminds us, “Don’t be like them, for your Father knows exactly what you need even before you ask Him!”  Not only does He know He created the need so that you would learn to trust Him and Him alone.  God created you for eternity and to quote Sister Prince, everything that He does is designed to make you “Better, Stronger, and Wiser”.  Because “The same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from His glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.”
