Overflowing with Thankfulness

By Dianne Prince

“So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in Him, rooted and built up in Him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.”Colossians 2:6–7 (NIV)

When our lives are rooted in Christ, thanksgiving is not limited to what we say; it becomes who we are. Gratitude flows naturally when we remember how much grace we have received from Christ.

Paul reminds us that as we grow in faith, we should also grow in thankfulness. Gratitude is not a shallow emotion. It is a deep current that runs through the life of every believer who knows the goodness of God. When we live aware of His mercy and mindful of His presence, our hearts cannot help but overflow with praise.

Overflowing thanks impacts others, too. A grateful attitude brings light into dark places and encouragement to weary souls. It turns ordinary conversations into moments of worship and transforms daily routines into opportunities to reflect God’s joy.

Today, let your thankfulness overflow. Speak words that uplift. Choose gratitude over complaint. Remember that every good thing in your life is a gift from your loving Father. As you live rooted in Him, may your gratitude spill over and bless those around you.

A heart overflowing with thankfulness becomes a living testimony of God’s goodness.
