Praise Through the Storm
“Praise Through the Storm”
By Dianne Prince
“But I will keep on hoping for your help; I will praise you more and more” (Psalm 71:14, NLT).
The psalmist in today’s scripture is in trouble. His eyes tell him, “This looks impossible.” People around him say, “You will NEVER get out of this.” His mind insists, “You’re finished. It’s over. This is the end.”
Yet, despite his circumstances, he has resolved to praise God until his breakthrough comes.
What should you do when trouble beyond your control arises? What should you do when the way is unclear and no single solution exists? What should you do when faced with a situation that is too confusing to sort through and too complex for you to handle?
The answer is simple:
-
Declare a time of prayer.
-
Enter a season of praise.
-
Thank God in advance for working things out.
Today, resist the urge to find solutions in your own strength. Instead, turn your burdens over to God in prayer, encourage yourself through praise, and wait for His direction. When you pray and praise while you wait, He will settle your spirit, calm your mind, grant you peace that surpasses understanding and keep you grounded until the tide changes in your favor.
