Rejoice in His Presence
“Rejoice!”
By Dianne Prince
“And my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior.” — Luke 1:47
Mary’s song of praise did not rise from perfect circumstances, but from a heart fixed on the goodness of God. Her joy was rooted in who God is and what He had already done. This same joy is available to us today. True joy overflows when we pause and focus on the faithfulness of God woven throughout our days.
It is found in the small blessings we often overlook. It is seen in prayers that were answered quietly, sometimes long after we stopped asking. It grows in seasons of waiting, when contentment replaces striving and trust steadies our hearts. Joy appears when we remember the quiet ways God carried us through moments we could not have endured alone.
Joy is not something we can manufacture through effort or emotion. It is not dependent on circumstances aligning in our favor. Joy is our response to recognizing God’s presence, provision, and purpose at work in every season of life. When our focus shifts from what is missing to what God has already given, joy naturally rises.
Your reminder for today is this: Joy grows whenever you remember what God has already done. As you move through the day, let your spirit rejoice, and joy will follow.
How do you give yourself permission to rejoice?
-
Reflect on His goodness. Take a moment to thank God for one specific blessing today, such as the strength to get through a difficult conversation or the provision that arrived right when it was needed.
-
Remember His care. Look back on a season when you felt overwhelmed and recognize how God sustained you through supportive people, unexpected peace, or quiet reassurance along the way.
-
Rest in His timing. Choose to trust God while waiting for an unanswered prayer, continuing to walk faithfully without forcing outcomes or rushing ahead of His plan.
