“Remembering Their Sacrifice”
By Dianne Prince
“The memory of the righteous is blessed” (Proverbs 10:7, NKJV).
While we sleep peacefully in our beds, there are men and women all over the world who stand guard, serving as watchmen on the wall, day and night. They stand not out of compulsion or mere citizenship requirement, but with firm resolve and a defensive posture in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Space Force, Marines, Coast Guard, and Special Forces. They have chosen to leave everything behind and dedicate their lives to protect the life and liberty of our democracy.
Today, we set aside a moment to remember the sacrifice and selflessness of those who gave their lives so that we could live in freedom in America. In honor and memory of our fallen soldiers, we salute their families—those left behind to carry on their legacy. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the families of all men and women who lost their lives while serving in the military.
We also express our gratitude to those who served and are still alive—veterans who have fulfilled their commitments, retirees, reservists, and those with disabilities. We thank those on the front lines, actively protecting our freedom. And we are grateful to God for the personal freedom He grants us as Americans.
