Stick to Today
By Dianne Prince
“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.” — Matthew 6:34 (NKJV)
Some days, the weight of the unknown feels like too much to carry. You begin thinking about tomorrow, next week, or next year—and before you know it, anxiety floods in. But Jesus offers a better way. He reminds you to stay grounded in today. Be faithful with what is in front of you now. Why? Because this is where His grace is active, His strength is real, and His peace is available.
When you focus on what you cannot control, you waste energy that could be used to honor God with what is already in your hands. Are there tasks you can complete? Responsibilities you can fulfill with integrity? Moments when you can show kindness?
Make that phone call. Answer that text. Show up with a good attitude. Speak life. These small, daily steps matter more than you realize.
God often does His greatest work in the ordinary. By focusing on today—doing the next right thing, saying a prayer, encouraging someone—you create space for His peace to guard your heart. Tomorrow is in His hands. Today is where your obedience lives.
Your reminder for today is this: Stay in your lane. Trust God with the road.
Take a deep breath. Smile. Take one step at a time. Release what you cannot control. Then turn your attention to what you can do. Walk in faith today. Let God take care of the rest.
He is walking with you today—and He is already in your tomorrow.
