Thank God for the Journey
By Dianne Prince
“The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and He delights in his way.” — Psalm 37:23 (NKJV)
All of us have experienced twists, turns, and unexpected seasons in our lives. Through every step, God has guided us. Shaped us. And walked with us. Although we have a deep history with God always cutting a path for us, many of us are still learning to thank Him not only for the destination but also for the journey.
Being grateful for the journey means recognizing God’s hand in every chapter. Even the difficult paths have purpose. The delays produce patience. The challenges build character, and the victories remind us that God is faithful. Nothing is accidental when He orders our steps.
Sometimes we focus so much on what is ahead that we forget to appreciate where God has brought us from. Gratitude helps us pause and acknowledge His work in us—how He has lifted us, healed us, carried us, and taught us along the way.
Today, make up in your mind to cooperate with the process. Take time to thank God for the journey. Celebrate the growth, the lessons, and the hand of God that has showed up in every season. Trust that the same God who has guided you this far will continue to lead you forward.
When you make it a habit to thank God for the journey, you will discover that every step—easy or hard—will made you stronger, deepened your faith and bring you closer to Him.
