The Silence of Waiting”

By Dianne Prince

“The LORD is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks Him. It is good that one should hope and wait quietly for the salvation of the LORD.”Lamentations 3:25–26 (NKJV)

During Holy Week, Saturday was a day of silence. Jesus lay in the tomb, and hope seemed lost. The disciples were grieving, confused, and uncertain about the future. The disciples were caught between what God promised and what had yet to be fulfilled. God had spoken, but the outcome was not yet visible.

We all experience seasons like this. Prayers seem unanswered, circumstances remain unchanged, people are doing the same old things, and clarity is missing. Yet even in that silence, God was still working. While the world saw a sealed tomb, heaven was preparing a resurrection.

Waiting is not wasted time. It is often God’s workshop—where He strengthens our faith, deepens our trust, and prepares us for what is to come.

If you find yourself in a season of waiting, do not mistake stillness for absence. God is working beneath the surface, aligning things you cannot yet see. His promises have not expired. His Word has not failed.

Saturday did not have the final word—Sunday was already on its way. So, hold steady. Trust deeply. Stand firmly on God’s Word. Because when God seems silent, He is often doing His greatest work—and your resurrection moment is closer than it feels.
