Trust God with Your Tomorrow
“Trust God with Your Tomorrow”

“Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life” (Matthew 6:27, NIV)?
This morning, we find Jesus teaching about money and possessions. Lack of money and lack of certain things are the leading causes of worry— lack of money to pay a car payment or to pay rent will sometimes weigh heavy on the mind. A temporary setback in health or a bad medical test result will sometimes cause the mind to run away with “what if” scenarios.
Jesus tells us not to worry about anything. There is no value to worrying about something you cannot change, something you are not responsible for, something you are unable to control, or something that keeps you awake when you should be asleep.
Worry is counterproductive. Worry has never saved a family member. It has never fixed a broken relationship. Worry has never paid a bill. It has never healed a sick body. And worry has never solved a problem.
However, if you think about it, the bills have always gotten paid, the problems have always gotten solved, and God has always worked things out.
Jesus commands us in today’s scripture instead of worrying, to seek God’s kingdom. That is, seek those things that can help with your situation and seek those things that are important to God. What can help your situation and what is important to God? Daily Prayer can help with your situation. Exploring God’s Word to find out what He says about your situation is important to Him. And finally, believing that He will solve your problems is important to Him.
The reminder for you today is this: Jesus tells us in Matthew 6:32-34, “Don’t worry about what you will eat, what you will drink or what you will wear. These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God[e] above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. “So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today” (NLT).
Today, surrender your worries to God through prayer. Your job is to trust and depend on Him. And His job is to solve all your problems and to give you peace while He works things out.
